About MeI am Brian Costello. Ten years ago I walked into a school building as an employee for the first time. That day I delivered books, opened boxes, catalogued orders, and helped lost young children find their classrooms. I never wanted another career after that moment.
Over the past ten years I have worked in nearly every capacity in various school districts. While working as an building substitute in Lower Township I had the opportunity to learn from several excellent teachers while filling many needs for the district. I continued to work there as an in class support aide, learning with excellent teachers and leaders. When I was hired at Weymouth Township I had the opportunity to do many things both in and out of the classroom. This provided me with the chance to work closely with administrators, other teachers, and families to grow as a leader. This past year I have expanded my work in the school by working as the advisor to Student Council, building and opening our school's new MakerSpace, and becoming a case manager for students in our Intervention and Referral Service. Over the past two years I have started upon my personal vision to give back to younger educators what was given to me. I take every opportunity to share my what I am learning, mentor and advise younger teachers, and learn from others. My goal is to bring my passion for learning, dedication, and positive energy as an administrator |
In addition to my current work in education, I have also recently published a fiction book. Will McGill and the Magic Hat is a short chapter book intended help bridge the gap in reading interests between second and forth grades. I am a passionate writer and publishing a book was a lifelong goal of mine. It is available for purchase here:
